Figured it was time to finally watch Andor.

First episode starts off with "one year later" then jumps around to multiple planets, each with their own characters and storylines with no exposition.

Bold! I'm digging the risk taken and respect for the audience, figuring it'll then go back and show how it all started.

Wrap up the episode intrigued and then realize it was the first episode of season 2.

Unsure about for a 10 y/o, but from what I recall fine. Murderbot diaries by Martha Wells.

Better than the Apple TV adaptation IMO, but I understand why they made some of the decisions adapting that they did.

Bumper sticker on a car parked at McDonald’s “Eat Local, Eat Organic”.

Hmm.

Humans needing escapism from the greed and stupidity of humans watching TV about an android that watches TV as escapism from the greed and stupidity of humans.

In 2025 we are all murderbot.

If you're feeling a little overwhelmed by the new #photos app in #iOS18, this is what I did to dial it back to something simpler.

It's worth noting that almost all of my photos are in Lightroom CC, so it's mostly just videos and some random snapshots but I find this more useful than the old interface. :)

What if instead of a debate, there was a power walking race through the Mall of America?

“Pizzerias usually tell you the pizza pie's diameter, but we don't eat the diameter. We don't eat the circumference either. What we eat is the area of the pizza.”

Copy writing so bad it's good.

#aurora #northernlights shots last night from Olympic National Park along coastal Washington from my iPhone 14 Pro. The first is a 30 second night mode photo shot with a pocket tripod, the rest are afaik 3 second handheld exposures.

#aurora @halide night mode worked way better than long exposure, maybe AI can pull out some 1 second shots around 2.5k ISO on a pocket tripod

One weird thing - try taking a screen recording of the photos app preview (remove gridlines, level, etc) for a set of night mode applied frames for video. :)

The colors are far more vibrant than a proper video (nice and fluid for motion but was far more similar to the desaturated unaided view) on my iPhone 14 Pro at least, though the framerate suffers.

to be fair, another theme also loaded content from a different theme's template (which led to weird inconsistencies), and their general theming process is a mess with some basic changes taking minutes to show up, settings being distributed in semi-random seeming places in their admin interface (changing branding colors requires a designer to have access to edit the main org account etc).

this is the only one that was so massively broken.

looking forward to never touching the platform again lol
