I do FreeBSD related stuff. https://people.freebsd.org/~adrian/

I dunno, what else? You can just find me via google. I've been on the internet since the 90s.

I'm KK6VQK when I talk on the radio.

oh look this 60 minutes CECOT torrent is very busy rn

I've pieced together enough stuff to demonstrate blitting dithered and non-dithered rectangles on this SGI Indy running NetBSD.

It's doing straight up IO writes configure and kick the rectangle blit. They're straight up dithered rectangles of different sizes to an 8 bit framebuffer. For 24 bit you don't need dithering, and it doesn't speed anything up.

Anyway, the code is here: https://github.com/erikarn/sgi-indy-hacking

8x8 and 16x16 maxes out at 160,000 fills/sec. It slows down after that.

ok i figured out enough to get newport xorg up and going, baby steps. I need to document how as (a) it's not working out of the box, and (b) the newport xf86 code has a second probe path that .. sigh, checks /proc/cpuinfo to see if it's an Indy or Indigo2. Ah yes, linux specific code in xorg drivers. From 2000.

the internet says to use amtelnet as an amiga telnet client.

its ... very fucking old at this point. here are its registration options. like, lol.

amiga stuff just wasn't really open source back then was it?

i wrote / finished a mandelbrot generator using the amstrad cpc firmware pack.

it'll in theory plot any mandelbrot, slowly, until the end of the 5 byte floating point format.

fuck this guy in particular

shit so my mum shipped me a couple PAL computers - a commodore 16 and a Tandy MC-10.

I don't have any PAL monitors in the US.

I'm ... going to need to find one.
