Everything was going amazingly well at the DMV until it was my turn at the counter.

The appointment was very easy to schedule online, I did not have to stay in line, just check-in on my phone and straight to the waiting area. Then, not even 8:15 am and the person that receives me at the counter was already surprisingly rude and unhelpful.

The whole thing ended up being a waste of everyone's time because I was missing a document that was never asked to bring with me in the first place.

For whatever reason (I think I know why) I wasn't able to renew my DL online and had to make an appointment.

DMV visits are in the category of those I am definitely not looking forward to.
@Jakra I hear you!

This morning I used rpi-clone to migrate to the new SSD. The only downtime I had was to shutdown, swap SSDs and restart.

When I did the previous migration from microSD to USB SSD on the Pi 4 I think the downtime was also minimal.

My migration from the Pi 4 to the 5 was more involved and gradual though because it was a different OS, and I migrated all my stuff from a mostly apt-get installed software to a fully dockerized approach where everything I run has its own compose file and everything is easy to migrate in the future 🤞.

(This GtS instance I am writing from is just one more docker compose project on that Pi )
@Jakra ohhh I just realized I never asked what RPi you have. If you have a 5 I would definitely recommend getting an nvme hat/base 👍 and ditch the USB completely!

I used to run my home server in a Pi 4 with a USB SSD, but this year I did the full migration to the Pi 5 8GB + NVMe base + SSD
@Jakra nice ! I did that earlier this year and I am pretty happy. I got a Pimoroni and a 512GB SSD initially, and today I migrated from that 512GB to a 2TB SSD 👍
@shegeley not sure what you mean by "hackers" email, but I've been using Fastmail for a very long time and I am very happy with it.

I believe there is a way to get a referral link that might give you some sort of discount, I can look into that if you want to give it a try.
@ZMYaro 👏 👏 👏 👏

@Janet_52square @hollie same here ✋, although I think I am a bit more aggressive as I usually mute for 1 week.

I have noticed this behavior mostly on spammers and Pixelfed users ("bad" instagram habit maybe?).
@matcha06 retro-nice!
@rye I know it's not what you are asking for but... have you considered migrating from nginx to caddy? I had excellent results (basic home lab usage, including reverse proxy). It comes with built-in cert management.
