I'm constantly amazed that so many people have so much time and energy to spend maintaining social media accounts on so many platforms. Not a judgement, just a personal observation. Because I've been asked a lot: I'm unlikely to join Bluesky or Threads or any of the newfangled Birdsite or MetaFaceGram clones.
For me, it's less about whether these platforms are useful or benign or hostile or worthy than it is about maintaining boundaries and limits on my overall social media use and consumption. And I'm okay w/ the trade-offs of potentially limiting my reach if it ultimately means I have both more free time and more balance/sanity in my life.
