Leaving sticky notes everywhere doesn’t work for adhd people because they stop seeing the notes. I don’t have adhd but I’ve noticed the only way my adhd spouse can operate is like this: If you think that whatever you need to remember would be Really Bad to forget, then bite the bullet and do it now—without changing course !!!!!— or else plan a disruption in your life to remind you later, one you can’t miss. If it’s not a huge deal then never plan on remembering it and let it go and carry on, because you will never attend to anything unless it is an emergency, and if you spend all your energy remembering to put it off, it’s dysregulating... so it can wait if it’s not dire. You’re at your best when it’s dire. Say, “No- I won’t remember.” Or better yet, “I prefer not to”, and then lay down on the ground and cease to respond to anything or anyone. Then rise like a god from the ashes when there’s no minute to spare.

or lament a genocide
poems about cats
or rage about poverty covid genocide again billionaires ecological devastation AI racism bigotry hate

do we wake up in the morning and think that the world is full of magic and possibilities
or stumble weeping towards doom because hey we still have bills to pay

i increasingly feel like it's all of the above, but i don't really think the brain/heart/mind/soul are built for that

When you have a prairie yard, you get a bunch of cool flowers and immediately animals eat them. Then they, like, rip it out and use the plant. And everything has holes. And it is LOUD. Omg, the animals! The rodents and then raptors and the blood streaks and screams. The insects! The skunk comes to eat wasps, etc. I’m realizing my neighbors aren’t pissed off and calling cops all the time on the plants. The tickets are for plants that are over 6”. I thought they were worried because they thought my plants would spread to their lawns, which they don’t (the grass seed the birds shit spreads lawn grass, which are my weeds). No, they are pissed off at the animals! They just put out a ton of traps along our fence line. Now it all makes sense. Pushing pollinator gardens are not what we need to focus on anymore— coexisting with animals is.

@Semi_Hemi_Demigod @KrissyKat I watched a fresh faced squirrel baby getting mad at the circle of sparrows gathered around him, who would fly up to the feeder, grab some seeds, then fly back down to the grass right in front of the baby squirrel to finish eating them. They were obviously teasing the poor thing.
