The Queens of the Arabs During the Neo-Assyrian Period By Ellie Bennett

The title “Queen of the Arabs” is applied in Neo-Assyrian texts to five women from the Arabian Peninsula. These women led armies, offered tribute, and held religious roles in their communities from 738 to approximately 651 BCE. This book discusses what the title meant to the women who carried it and to the Assyrians who wrote about them.

Whilst colleagues are making travel plans for conferences, please make some time for our workshop. The goal is to develop some 'Best Practice' guidelines for digital projects in the Ancient Near East, and this workshop will act as a brainstorm of the issues, concerns, and existing guidelines fellow researchers are already using.

The good news is ASOR is hybrid this year, so you can attend from wherever you are!

pattern: The possibility of Crows by Harper Bee

One of the things I've noticed since I started #knitting is that I find stitch markers EVERYWHERE around the house...except when I actually NEED to use a stitch marker.

I've been dragging my feet on this Estonian lace stole project for ages. But, I'm aiming to (finally!) finish it this week. Fingers crossed.... 😄
