@BowieSpace thanks. I fell down an escalator 10 years ago and my health literally went to shit. Internal injuries, lost my leg, my bladder died, severe daily chronic pain. Folks just left. I have daily interaction with my home health aides but I'd like to see people who aren't paid to be here. And watching the things keeping me alive one by one because I can't "contribute" is... Horrible.
Also fucking hell do people disappear when you become disabled.
I haven't been online hardly at all recently. I had to start back on a med that destroys my immune system. I don't know I am going to survive this administration. Fighting to stay alive in addition to fighting to keep my insurance, disability benefits, etc. If I lose them I definitely won't survive. Street activism was my life for years. I feel lost. #disability
@roughnecks sure! As long as you all don't mind someone who doesn't know Italian.
Does anyone still do #irc ? I hang out on one server but am looking for different servers to connect with folks
@somepunk aaah gotcha. Thanks!
Can anyone give me a tip on how to make it so I can write longer posts? I see others who are able to write more yet its giving me character limits. I'm using tusky and wondering if it's app related?
My nerd machine. I like to take cheap/old computers, throw #linux on them and make them better. I was introduced to Red Hat in '99 and that ended my brief affair with Windows. Haven't used anything else since. I of course moved on from Red Hat. As a tinkerer and later more security focused its always been an obvious choice.

Oh and fuck anyone who needs to use a curb cut. And I'm not shocked. They don't give a shit about disabled people. And I don't remember the last time I trusted the government.

Also it snowed a week and a half ago and shit is still this bad? The fuck?

I'm shocked, yet not shocked how badly the #DC government has absolutely fucked over the residents. As someone who is a wheelchair user, they have made it so I can't leave my place and its made it nearly impossible for my home health aides to even get here. You can't park on my street since they plowed the snow on the only side you can park on.
