Im Februar 1961 war ein Schweizer der Erste, der auf dem europäischen Festland ein künstliches Hüftgelenk implantierte. Der Orthopäde hiess Maurice E. Müller. Ein charismatischer Chirurg und Mäzen, der als einer der Erfinder des künstlichen Hüftgelenks gilt – und damit Medizingeschichte schrieb.
