At first blush, “Bugonia” reads like a black-pilled, misanthropic downer - a darker cousin to “The Happening”. I kinda despise it

Are the creators asking me to indulge in commiseration for collective annihilation?
Did the writers re-invent God to give voice their judgement to all humanity?

At risk of generalizing, I suspect that people who become entranced by chat bots have an under-developed inner monologue
