Comparing myself to other people on the internet makes it easy to pretend I'm immune to nostalgia, but it's actually that I'm not super emotionally attached to much media from my childhood, but I'm cripplingly forlorn about specific trees and buildings and things of that nature.

You could almost build a narrative that points to increased tv and internet consumption starting at 13 as the sole reason for all my current problems, but that is reductive. Part of me started to want those things because my brain was changing and growing. Still, I am resentful.
Cleaned my bathtub but there's still some parts of it that feel rough to the touch and I'm not sure if scrubbing harder at them in a good idea because I don't think this thing is real ceramic.
Cleaned my fridge today. Now for everything else.
Flu shot arm is itchy but covid shot arm is not.
I want to go on a road trip but I don't even want to see anything interesting, I just want to experience as wide an array of highway rest stops as I can. That's the real America.
Tried putting milk in canned tomato soup instead of water and it turned it orange (to be expected) but now I keep thinking it tastes like carrots.
@liveonthesun I read the book when I was 15 and I just did not understand it at all. It felt to me like it dropped a bunch of plot and character stuff and never came back to it. I think I might have been too young for it at the time though, what did you like about it?
@whineosaur I think being isolated by the pandemic probably made me a more selfish person in the long run, and that's gotta have been even worse for people in an earlier stage of development :/
