Edited highlights of my life.

Inner city Egret and Kingfisher fishing quite literally next to each other on my very urban cycle to work today.

Never seen either before in the wild - let alone in a park by a motorway.
(Apologies for the awful pictures, it's all I had with me!)

As The Guardian neatly summed up, ultra processed food providers know they need to be cheaper, quicker and arguably tastier than the alternatives - i.e. home cooking.

Society too readily blames individuals for not eating healthily, but it's not a fair contest to start with. Big corporations are actively working to make their product as appealing as possible and at the moment health is not a concern for them.

Neanderthals were named after finds from the Neander valley. It was later realised that earlier finds had been misidentified, and the first described Neanderthal fossils were in fact found in Engis, Belgium.

So, postulating a bit, H. Neanderthalensis could well have been named H. Engisensis, H. Wallooniensis, or possibly even H. Schmerlingensis
