The new #SARSCoV2 variant that has shown up in Israel and Denmark, has now been detected in Michigan; it's called BA.2.86 and has 35 mutations in the spike compared with XBB.1.5 (the newly updated vaccine booster target).
Will be watching this one very closely in the days ahead.
