San Francisco’s sustainable mode share is decreasing — we’re literally going in the wrong direction!
Between Fiscal Year 2016–17 and 2020–21, sustainable mode share decreased from 54% to 38%, below our goal of 60% by Fiscal Year 2020 😔
We need leadership to turn things around.

Why not both?
Some parking control officers can profitably ticket blocks of cars for meters and street sweeping. Others can help keep our bike lanes and sidewalks clear of parked vehicles, for our safety.

I would rather folks call SF “San Fran” or “Frisco” than call it “Liberal” or “Progressive.”
The image is a scapegoat for when the conservative policies and ideas fail.
This @Streetsblog piece is perfect. One shock of living in SF has been how disconnected its popular left wing image is from reality. It’s the most conservative place I’ve ever lived. Hard-wired to stop change, and when it can’t be stopped, to drag it out as long as possible. Repelling students and young families is a great way to strangle your city to death.
