My name's Dri, I'm a AAA game programmer making free action-adventure games in my spare time under the 'Dreamnoid' label. I make them (mostly) from scratch using custom tech, because it's fun!

I also write novels (in french!)

It's a game inspired by "metroidbrainias" and going "out of logic" in randomizers. It's about learning the rules of the world and noticing how you can use them to find new, secret paths. It's a game about minimalism (and obviously my recent trip to Japan)

I made a game! "Zendo - The Hidden Path" is kind of an experiment: you can play it as a regular #metroidvania and go for 100% item completion, but I want you to try the opposite. Can you learn the secrets of this world to *skip all abilities* and still finish it?
It's free: https://dreamnoid.itch.io/zendo

Collect all abilities... or learn secrets to bypass them

My philosophy is to build the game out of small reusable bricks. The rooms making up the world use kits on a 2x3m grid size for the walls. I've also made a character creation tool to assemble characters out of reusable parts
I'm finally working on a 3D game with my custom engine. It's for #Metroidvania Month 29, so I only have one month to get it to the finish line. This is very much a 'build the parachute during the fall' kind of situation!
New game alert: Distant Paradise is out!
It's a short #metroidvania I made with the goal of running on the web: https://dreamnoid.itch.io/distant-paradise
Hope you all enjoy it! #gamedev #indiegame

New blog post! A bug in GTA San Andreas lay dormant for over 20 years, until unrelated changes in Windows 11 24H2 triggered it. This is a deep dive into how a simple coding mistake erased all seaplanes from the game and made them completely unusable.

How a 20 year old bug in GTA San Andreas surfaced in Windows 11 24H2

After over two decades, players are now forbidden from flying a seaplane, all thanks to undefined code behavior.

Now there's a protest sign you don't see often.

One thing people really like about l Superluminal is that it (really) Just Works, and we’re trying hard to get that same experience on Linux.

But this platform sometimes really feels like it’s actively fighting against anything “just working” and it would really prefer you Do The Work tyvm.
