Had a great time learning about #theyyam in north #kerala. Really wish i could have spend more time.
Theyyam is a religious art form found only in the malabar region of north kerala - it has dravidian influence and each theyyam represents a a goddess / god / deity. It is believed that the deity possess the artist while they perform!

Missing these goofballs. They are in a kennel when partner and i travel. This is probably the longest we have been away.
Breaks my heart when i imagine their anticipation of our return and the sense of abandonment they must be feeling right now
