“People tell chatbots about their medical fears, their relationship problems, their beliefs about God and the afterlife.

Advertising built on that archive creates a potential for manipulating users in ways we don’t have the tools to understand, let alone prevent.”

Just started trying the #Sourcegraph Cody tool, trying to compare it with the #Github Copilot and others, first attractive thing about it is it seems to be (still) opensource.

At first glance it seems to be ecqually invasive, key shortcut is just [TAB] which makes it harder to reject the code injections than accept them; I bet this even alters their own data thinking the autogenerated code block was amazing.

Even with all the issues it could bring, I wouldn't be surprised if with the amount of early-adopters-users brave enough to be walking around wearing a $4000dlls bulky gadget in their neighborhoods, @google ends up restarting their google glass project; doesn't seems like the privacy concerns which killed that project 10 years ago are anymore a mainstream concern this time.

Anyway, @pluralistic, I'm ready to be hopeful about the future. Bring it on.
Wake up babe, new Philip K Dick story just dropped
