My app Milk Diary is Apple’s App of the Day in the US App Store today!

Thank you Apple for this incredible recognition and thank you to ALL the families that have used Milk Diary so far and everyone that has supported me in this journey.

This is truly only the beginning, if you are a new parent in the throes of baby feeding, struggling to manage and overwhelmed with the complexities, Milk Diary is here for you. 🫶🏽 There’s still so much to come, stay tuned! https://apps.apple.com/us/story/id1854932622

Reminding everyone that I have been out of work for about a year, as I continue my job search tour.

I have an eclectic background with 30 years experience, and a strong through-line in video post-production, IT
administration and systems design, deeply related to editing and finishing video and film, with
concentrations in macOS administration and pipeline automation focused needs. I am also a technological generalist, and learn new skills wicked fast.

If you know of a job I might be a good fit for, please let me know! remote or LA metro preferred.

@jgamet this is new to me! Thanks for sharing it, it feels like the internet of old, unique and personal sites
@_Davidsmith @marcoarment it was an amazing run, and a great successor to Developing Perspective. One of my favorite shows to see appear in Overcast. Thanks for sharing so much wisdom and experience over an entire decade!

My wife and a friend have made a book and are trying to kickstart it very soon.

It's a book about art appreciation for children.

You should totally sign up to buy a copy/kickstart it when it's released and tell your friends and re-post this post.

Let's have some nice stuff in this horrible timeline.

grover: oh please oh please do not turn the page! there is a monster at the end of this book!

the Buddha: what is a monster, grover?

grover: it is scary. it is terrible. it is the thing i fear most

the buddha:and is the thing itself terrible, or is it your clinging to fear that makes it so?

grover: i do not know, but i do not like it and i do not want to find out. please. just do not turn the page!

the buddha: when we resist the turning of the page, we suffer. when we accept that the page will turn, we are free

grover: well i am going to glue the pages anyway

If you’re looking for some light reading, I wrote a blog post about how I made the iPhone's Action Button actually kind of useful — by leveraging Shortcuts in a novel way to create customizable actions for every app.

https://fabisevi.ch/2025/02/28/lights-camera-action-button

Lights, Camera, Action Button

The iPhone 15 Pro launched with a marquee feature, the Action Button. The Action Button set out to replace the mute switch, which had existed since the first iPhone was released back in 2007. The Action Button is a software-powered button, replacing what previously was a hardware switch that would toggle your phone’s silent mode on or off. The appeal of the Action Button was that now you could decide what the side button should do for you. If you wanted it to be a mute switch, no problem, the Action Button can still be one. But if you want to use it to toggle your flashlight, launch the camera, or turn on Do Not Disturb mode, these alternatives and more are now possible. The unspoken downside has always been that it’s hard to decide what the Action Button should do, if it can only do one thing.

@pilky for everyone who knew him personally, there were hundreds like me who only experienced his presence online. We were fortunate to have that chance, and I will miss him. RIP :(
