We will be #curling soon!
Schenectady #Curling Club's ice is going in -- hacks went in yesterday!
A good summary of `unsafe`, which Nell equally applied to social media #rustconf2023

Just when I was ready to start painting, "why don't we just pull the wallpaper in the hall while we are at it?"

Then patching cracks. Then painting??

I picked this up at a random nursery because it was pretty, and it has propagated so well I'm now drowning in the stuff! #gardening
A new local species for me: striped wintergreen #botany https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/154754264

First (scratch) coat is down. I wasn't sure how hard to push to get the plaster to form "keys", but it is staying up so I guess that's OK? #plasterwork #homeimprovement
I did contact the company and ask how much material I should order. The answer was the "contractor pack", 15 tubes of adhesive and two bottles of conditioner. The task has taken 1 bottle of conditioner and 2 tubes of adhesive, so I do feel like I got taken for a bit of a ride there (this stuff isn't cheap!). #plasterwork #homeimprovement
I've been trying to accomplish things by doing it the "right" way, rather than just getting it done. That's usually a bit of research but also spending what it costs to get the tools and materials required. For this project I bought "Plaster Magic" (and various trowels), which promises to adhere the existing plaster and then supplies plaster to patch the hole (scratch and brown coat). Unlike many of these projects, this one is working out as planned so far! #plasterwork #homeimprovement
I've cleared the damaged plaster away and the lath is in pretty good shape. The leak that lead to the damage has been fixed, of course! #homeimprovement #plasterwork
