We really need to stop with the trope of "the AI is gonna..." and realize that already it's "people are gonna use AI to..." - the latter is just as scary but doesn't require anything unexplainable to believe it

Elsevier wanted to raise the article processing charge to $3450 because its profit margins aren't obscene enough; in response, the entire editorial board resigned.
