well, figured that out finally. my instance had fallen over, turns out the certificate had expired and for some reason it didn't show up as expired when you visited has-no.solutions in a browser, just failed to load anything.

i had a minor issue with the Wi-Fi on first bootup after replacing the SSD (couldn't do the initial update over 5ghz, had to use 2.4ghz) but other than that no issues so far

btw to anyone considering getting one if you are *at all* dextrous and used to working on PCs, consider getting the cheapest one and replacing the SSD. you will save *so much money* and it is *not* a hard job at all imo.
