Usually Superb Owl Sunday is a good day for shopping and going out to eat, because so many people really seem to enjoy watching that Owl on tv.
This year though, the event is in a town a few miles from us. I'm not sure what to expect in terms of traffic and how crowded things will be.

Was Caltrain electrified the last time you were in town? I don't remember when that was.
I haven't seen numbers about Americans traveling to Europe this year but am intensely curious.
Indeed. Health care in the US is at this point going to get so much worse, like a train wreck one cannot avoid:
- withdrawal of subsidies and 2-3x cost on 1/1/2026 causes otherwise healthy people to decide to drop insurance and hope for the best
- average health of the risk pool declines, incentivizes denial of anything possible in 2026 to control cost and another steep price increase 1/1/2027
- repeat
Some days it feels like sociopaths are the norm.
There must be, somewhere, a nation which wants its citizenry to be happy and productive.
Surely it can't be sociopaths all the way down, can it?
So, Network States are trying to be Galt's Gulch from Atlas Shrugged, is that right?
Their goal is to build a hideaway for über-competent rich people while civilization fails everywhere else?
They will sip chardonnay and watch the world burn?
