It’s not that I worry about the generation coming up being unwilling to put in effort. I worry that we have a generation who are being willfully misled that being efficient at producing code is the path to being better at writing software, operating it in production, or - god forbid - building a business on that software.
The company can no longer afford for you to bring your whole self to work.
Tofu GolemInteresting observation I saw (not mine): AI proponents are essentially arguing that we don't need farmers because we can just buy food from the supermarket.
Apple: This AI stuff doesn't meet our quality bar because it doesn't work all the time.
@siracusa: The toaster's good - it gets hot like 90% of the time.
What does it say about AI that nobody wants others to use it for their work, but people can’t resist using it for their own?
I'd find it challenging to explain to someone a generation ago that easy, ubiquitous communication would result in less shared context in society.
