It's that time of year where one reflects on the year that has passed and looks forward to the new one. A lot of people like to set a "theme" for the new year, which is something I've not done before.

But next year, I think I'd like to set a theme of #focus

Focus is something I constantly struggle with, and I really need to step up my game.

So how does one practice focus? What does that even mean? That is what I'm setting out to discover.

If you like, you can keep the entire thing offline, either saving odd password profiles locally, or go for a complete no-storage solution and just generate passwords every time (but still have benefits like auto-fill and password breach checks)
LessPass has/had an online database component where you could store password profiles (character restrictions, counter, etc).
Bitwarden logins have custom fields where you can add extra data, which is all (theoretically) encrypted on the Bitwarden server.
Plug A into B, only store profile settings that deviate from the defaults.
Offer self-hosting options or keep profile databases local, like Keepass.
#AppIdea
A password manager with all the security and nice-to-haves of something like Bitwarden (e.g. extra fields, map many urls to one login, mobile app with autofill, check for password breaches, etc)
But the passwords themselves are never actually stored, instead deterministically generated, like lesspass.com
Does anyone use #cron (#croncalendar ?) and have some spare invites?
Curious about the app but just waiting around for an invite sucks...

It's 2023 and there's still no way to hide/merge events on a #calendar that are duplicated due to calendar sharing?

I have a "family" shared calendar which combines events from multiple people, and often things exist on both the family calendar and my personal one, so the event appears twice on my calendar.

You'd think modern calendar apps would be smart enough to detect the duplicate and hide/merge, but apparently not.

I've seen a lot of people mention how #ArcBrowser is a gamechanger, but what is it about the browser that actually changes your mindset?

How does it compare to something like #Wavebox (https://wavebox.io/) with its "app" tabs, cookie containers and workspaces or #StackBrowser (https://stackbrowser.com/) with its horizontally scrolling stacks, plus spaces and profiles?

As a Windows user, I'm yet to actually try out Arc, so I can't really check it out for myself yet...

I have mixed feelings about #AustraliaDay

It's intended as a day for celebration about everything good this country has to offer. It's set on the day the First Fleet landed here to settle in Australia.

Which means it's also #InvasionDay - The day the white folk came and started systematically destroying #Aboriginal culture (because historically we just can't leave well enough alone).

Mainly, it just seems like an excuse to have a day off work...

I miss the days when social media feeds were purely chronological...

... Oh wait, that's part of the reason I like #Mastodon so much
