Pretty new to the hobby. Got my novice license in August 2022 (previous callsign: DO1TC) and upgraded in March 2023.
I enjoy #POTA and got hooked by friendly folks from https://draussenfunker.de.

Activation Report: Purbeck POTA Rove

Bunkers, Castles, Lighthouses and a POTA 7-fer to round out the day.

Todays #POTA was #DE0269 Grüner Brink Nature Reserve.
Very nice evening activation with 19QSOs in 40min on 40m and 20m, this time SSB-only.
During our QSO an OM recognized who my CW teacher is. We switched to plaintext after I confirmed his question and we had an actual chat via #cw instead of continuing the standard QSO. I usually don't chat too much in SSB, but in #telegraphy it's somehow more fun. #hamradio

Today I went to #DE0137 Öjendorfer Park to meet with friends. Obviously I took my radio gear and did a #POTA activation afterward. It was not the success I had hoped for, but at least it felt like the #CW contacts were easier than on Friday. In the end 6 SSB contacts on 20m, one more on 40m, 6 #cw contacts on 40m and one FM on 2m.
Back home in DL again… Had a great time in OZ, despite bad band conditions I managed to activate 10 parks, including 2 ATNOs. (And 6 activations together with my father). And I finally got the Sapphire Activator for 75 unique activated parks!
APRS is also crazy in Northern OZ. My beacons were received by iGates in LA (150 km), and at the moment I started my TNC, my HT did not stop beeping. 😁
I also managed to talk to some local hams via simplex FM VHF. #POTA #hamradio
Today’s #POTA mission was to get over my key fright.
I went out into my all too familiar front yard #DE0261 Thörlspark with trails #DE0558 and #DE0622 (E1 and E9) to do a #cw-only activation.
I started with 30m to get to 10 activated bands in those three references and then went to 40m and 20m.
Thankfully most hunters were very patient with me and adjusted their keying tempo.
With a lot of `agn?` and `partial call?` I got to 12 QSOs and resisted the urge to just switch to SSB.

It is April, which means: EuCW QRS Activity Week is near!

From Monday, 28th of April, 0000z to Friday, 2nd of May, 2359z there will be a greater chance to find other stations for slow QSOs. It is not a contest, it's an activity to get QRV for CW beginners, returnees and experienced hams who want to support the former!

I will be participating for the first time and hope to get some fedihams in the log! 😉

EuCW QRS Activity week

I used the long Easter weekend for two #POTA activations of #DE0107 Naturpark Holsteinische Schweiz. It was the first time I called CQ POTA in #cw, just to immediately forget how to decode it🫣. In the end I got three CW contacts in addition to 45 SSB contacts.
