I'm progressive, a #nature lover, a cis-het #LGBTQ ally, a pale white #BLM ally, a gun owning supporter of strict gun control, a supporter of letting people be who they are and letting them try to be happy, an #unaffiliated voter, a despiser of bullies, a #birder, a #diversity supporter, a retired WV state employee, a supporter of freedom of reproductive choice, an #atheist who is #accepting of others' faiths, a believer in #kindness, and I have opinions - lots of them.

NEW: Trump issued a memorandum tonight essentially telling AG Bondi and DHS Sec Noem to go after lawyers who challenge the federal government — many lawyer’s jobs.

It’s basically a catch-all “let’s Paul Weiss whoever pisses us off” memo attacking the rule of law. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25600216-032125-trumpmemo-lawyers/

Mastodon is financed by crowdfunding instead of venture capital not because we don't know that venture capital exists, not because we don't have bills to pay, and not because venture capital isn't willing to give money to new social media platforms. VCs don't want a sustainable business, they want a big exit. Every VC-backed business is on a timer to deliver or die.

Okay, I wrote the blog post I said I'd write: A more thoughtful explanation of why I refused to answer a few questions this week.

This blog post could have been called “Why you don’t need a lawyer to answer your questions about legal issues in the news.”

We got an important post-Roe right to travel decision yesterday. Judge Thompson walks through the history, law, and AG Marshall’s effort to ignore both by threatening to prosecute those who help women get abortions out of state where they’re legal. https://www.lawdork.com/p/alabama-right-to-travel-abortion-dismiss-denial
Federal judge rebukes Alabama AG's out-of-state abortion threat

“[T]he Constitution protects the right to cross state lines and engage in lawful conduct in other States, including receiving an abortion,” Judge Myron Thompson ruled.
