I made the decision to add Trending to the main Timelines view rather than burying it under Explore. I think it's a better flow having all the feeds under one roof.
One thing I would love for exploring News is being able to see the conversations taking place about an article. Not sure that this is possible with Mastodon API right now.
Mastodon users â do you browse the "Local" and "Federated" feeds often? Thinking about featuring them on the Home tab & renaming it to Timelines or Feeds.
I think the client looks better with centered page title and smaller chrome. Also toned down the sidebar selection so it's not so prominent. What do you all think?
Started developing a desktop Mastodon client in my free time over the holidays. It's still very much a work in progress but I've focused on some key features so far:
âĸ Theme-able â user customizable theme inspired by #ArcBrowser
âĸ Navigation â back, forward, history and global search bar
âĸ Large card previews
âĸ Quote statuses â autodetects Mastodon status links and provides inline preview
âĸ External followers / following â view all of someones followers even if they aren't downloaded to your instance
âĸ Offline backup â will keep a full backup of your posts, following, bookmarks, etc. that could later be used if your instance suddenly goes offline
âĸ Follower suggestions (WIP) â provide Followgraph type functionality to suggest followers
âĸ Offline search (WIP) â provide autocomplete fuzzy search offline for account lookup, bookmarks, etc.
