So some guys ICE alleges are here illegally allegedly rammed an ICE vehicle, and an ICE agent fired on their vehicle. They got away (so far).

Good. Fuck ICE.

Don’t want to get rammed? Don’t send people to a torture prison in El Salvador. Thing is, cops arresting folks goes peacefully much of the time because people think the system has some guardrails. If people think they’re gonna get sent to a death camp, they have less to lose by fighting back. FAFO.

Oregon increasing beaver protections to help salmon, slow wildfires

Oregon just passed its second beaver protection law in as many years. The hope is that a bigger beaver population will help salmon, slow wildfires and also safeguard drinking water.

The head rush
Of blood,
The rust in my
Bones, the dust
Of men I loved
On a shelf,
The many
Darknesses
Of an ordinary

Could it be that Putin's real kompromat on Trump was about Epstein or similar behaviour and now Trump thinks it can't hurt him he feels Putin has no hold over him? Probably not, but it's a weird world.

a thing over on bluesky reminded me of the first telephone i ever used, which looked something like this

and as an aside, i fucking love niche websites like this

https://telephonesuk.org.uk/phones-1960-80/

https://britishtelephones.com/t746.htm

(I'm pretty sure the one my parents had was the model 746 anyway, the pictures of that one match up with my memory most closely - and it was definitely bright red, no doubt about that)

@luna I still remember our phone it was a classic bell phone with the bell Atlantic logo
@luna Milton Keynes museum has a great telephony section where they have a load of old phones wired into an exchange. Great for the kids to learn how it “used” to behave. Epic websites too -thanks for sharing!

@TinyExplosions @luna If you’re down in the South East of England then This Museum Is Not Obsolete in Ramsgate has one as well.
As well as many, many other things of interest 🙂

@luna Thank you for that link! Very cool. ❤️ My first telephone experience was one of these - in exactly this colour (I remember it well), complete with the party-line button.
@luna @Extelec We found a similar phone while cleaning out a youth club basement a few years ago, and obviously we rewired it so youngsters could plug it in to their smartphones and make calls using it 😀
@luna grr, some annoying (or left-handed) person has replaced the receiver the wrong way round 😁
@luna @Extelec I still use one.

Does the BT hub support pulse dial still??

Hmm. Might have to try that 😂
