berlin-based level and game designer

now working at Popcore, on several mobile games.

However, more invested in politics, advocating for democracy at work.

Game workers unite. <3

That's what I am talking about! #DemocracyAtWork

Today the german representation of interest for the game industry hosted a Twitch stream, talking with >former< >conservative< state secretary for digital affairs.

No mention of workers rights and abuse in the industry.
No mention of union busting.
No mention of problems with crunchtime.

Questions from people of the industry? Ignored.

But if times are tough, at least we have photos of politicians at gamescom and award shows.

For real change we have to organise! #DemocracyAtWork #gamedev

A good example of why private companies inherently are autocratic?
Try posting this in your meme channel at work and see what happens. (really, don't! 😂)

Even with a good company culture, what ever that means, there is an inherent imbalance in power and responsibility and you would get problems if you posted this.

However private companies tackle inflation by shifting the problem to the consumer and raise prices. The consumer cannot simply shift the problem to the employer. 🤷 #DemocracyAtWork

The company I work for recently hired people from Ukraine. They arrived in Berlin on Sunday with the help of two coworkers.

Cooperation of peoples in practice.

No war but class war. ✊

I totally forgot to post yesterday.

I hope everyone had a great first of May, whether you were spending time with your loved ones or protesting on the street! 💕

Still, we have to fight for our rights and we will never give up! ✊

Remember, there is no revolution without love. So be radically kind to each other. 🤗

El pueblo unido jamás será vencido!

Why are some people in the #gamedev industry so much into #NFT ?

I would assume that if you're exploring developing an idea around that tech, you would quickly realize how scammy that is.

The way of making games around accumulating capital and squeezing as many dollars from players as possible is kinda contrary to the main goal of making games: giving players a satisfying experience 🤷

Every time I tell people about my draft to gamificate Instagram the reaction is almost always: I hope you burned it. 😝

Hi #gamedev mastodon! 👋

I'm dave, berlin-based level designer who worked on sea of solitude.

Nowadays working on mobile games while being politically active.

I am advocating for democratizing work, unionization, and all the good stuff.

games are made by people. Not by CEOs.

I heard someone say e-scooters being parked on the middle of walkways is an example of why #anarchism does not work.

It is not a good argument because the chaotic parking is not only a result of companies exploiting a lack of democratic legitimized rules but also a semi-anarchist concept in a non-anarchist society that is used to having that stuff already sorted out and sanctioned if not done correctly.

In a democratized society we would depend on solving those problems in a collaborative way.
