IT Manager & iOS developer.

Made my first ever podcast appearance today, as a guest on Starting From the Pits podcast. A podcast for new F1 and motorsport fans. I came on as the endurance racing “expert” - term used loosely. But we had great fun.

Naturally I had to wear my @hypercritical tshirt. As the podcast that got me into podcast listening, it only felt right. @siracusa

@imyke @caseyliss about 2 years ago I advertised my app, The Racing Line, on the Backmarkers (miss that show 😭). It gave me a little subscription bump and which was great.

Since then I’ve completely rebuilt the app from scratch and going for the “good platform citizen” vibe. iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, widgets, complications, notifications, the lot. Much much nicer design and branding, more data for more series and more events. I even spent money on a designer for marketing material.

Listening to the latest episode of Analogue and hearing the F1 discussion made me realise I should advertise this better to the racing fans in the Apple world!

Coming soon to The Racing Line: Lock Screen widgets! 🎉
My first app review rejection. Feeling professional today.

@caseyliss this is the most Casey release note ever. You do something awesome then you put it down by saying it’s not perfect. The amount of broken, garbage and hostile apps in the AppStore and you’re criticising your stuff for not hitting perfection.

Your app is awesome. You are awesome. Be more confident. I say this as a fellow developer who is not confident.

TheRacingLine 2.0 submitted for approval store approval.
Massive update to The Racing Line coming. Now includes the concept of Events for session and series grouping. More qualifying and practice sessions. More notification options. More series. And generally better design.

@_Davidsmith in your experiments with iOS17, have you experienced any weird font size issues?

I am setting a system size of 10 on a widget and the Max/Plus phone is displaying it larger than the regular phone when it didn’t on iOS16.

To add more confusion, the SwiftUI Preview for the Max/Plus seem fine - but the simulators are not?

@overcastfm potential iOS17 shortcuts bug. Action for playing a playlist doesn’t appear to launch. Similar actions for other apps do appear to. Have recreated the shortcut, rebooted, updated etc.
