@suzisteffen but this is kind of the whole point of the book??? I mean I also found it very hard to be in her head while she wants and buys stuff but it's definitely not a pro-beauty industry story

Over the last few years I've been slowly reading all the Jean Rhys novels in order and now that I've finished Wide Sargasso Sea I am absolutely bereft. Now what?
@abigailnussbaum they are such bland potatoes and there is never even the slightest reason for her to be interested in either one of them!
I keep posting to that other site out of sheer habit but also because I'm using it for feelings-vomit lately and everything here feels a little too Serious and Meaningful for me to just drop my anxieties on it???
