#Fediverse I need your advice on changing instances on #Mastodon. Are there any downsides? Other than the change of my registration date? What about my recent posts on the previous instance? I know that I can transfer followers and followings. What about previous mentions? It’s probably good to keep the previous instance account leaving a note with my new address?

Morten BayTonight is already a massive victory for Dems. With the president at 53% disapproval, inflation hurting everyone, and this being Biden's first midterm, the GOP should have swept both the House and the Senate.
Now that appears to be unlikely.
Even if Dems lose the House by a few seats and just hold on to 50 Senate seats, that's an almost impossible feat.
But the biggest losers are pollsters. It's impossible to trust polls at this point. We need new methods.

There are so many helpful tools to get you started on #Mastodon after you’ve waved goodbye to the Angry Birds aka #TwitterMigration. However the one that worked best for me finding Twitter acquaintances in the #Fediverse is #Fedifinder by @Luca. Check it out at https://fedifinder.glitch.me - once authorized it scans your Twitter profile for followings with a linked Mastodon handle in their profiles. Make sure to click “Show Follow Button” for easy click&follow after the scan.

Ryan OzawaNew to Mastodon and staring at an empty timeline? I've made ready-to-import follow lists based on a couple of opt-in public directories of semi-/self-vetted Mastodon users. They are #Fedified by @DataDrivenMD and #JournalistsonMastodon by @tchambers.
Just grab the CSV (importable text-only tables) files here:

Then, in your Mastondon instance, go to:
Settings > Import and Export > Import > Following List + Merge
And upload the CSV file(s). Voila, instant tootstream!
If you’d compare #USPolitics to #HarryPotter the #Republicans would clearly be ‘Slytherin’ and #Democrats pretty much be ‘Hufflepuff’. And that’s exactly the problem: There is no ‘Gryffindor’ here.
