My 2 ¢ - @Mastodon is being held back by terrible search. For 15 years I connected with likeminded people on Twitter by searching for incredibly esoteric keywords. I'm sure they're on here, but I can't find my people.
@_Davidsmith And right on cue: "There are three buttons on the thing and one of them turns on the flashlight. I’m not sure that is that useful. " - @imyke
@_Davidsmith In the above scenario, the Action button only launches another app if the watch is not already in an app. If the user is already in an app with a trigger, clicking Action would not jump to another app.
@_Davidsmith This feels like the simplest way to both use the Action button to quick launch something, but then still give the user a degree of choice about what happens on the second click. In this instance, the user must first select a workout before the second click triggers an action.
Thinking about something @_Davidsmith said on Upgrade....the Ultra's Action button *should* be contextual. If I'm on the watch face, click once to launch an app...say Workouts. The user selects the desired workout, say Outdoor Run or Strength Train...click the Action button for a second time and the workout begins.
I think Mastodon is...fine. But I suspect it's a bit too much trouble for most people, including me sometimes. Hoping that something like post.news, which is really quite elegant for something so early, catches on.
