So here is a brief overview of our new project FediSea.
We are developing a Fediverse crawler which discovers and collects data about Fediverse instances. Then there will be an open API which provides this data.
The website will show statistics and information about the fediverse and there will be a clear API documentation.
All three Github repos (crawler, API and frontend) will be made public within the next few days.
Platforms that try to replicate the Mastodon API 1:1 create confusion. Some people already assume the Mastodon API is ActivityPub, and expect one client to log in to every ActivityPub server regardless of the underlying software. But Mastodon’s API is ONLY Mastodon’s interface.

We are going to share most information on our new project FediSea on the @ghostbyte account, so be sure to follow us there. Alternatively the hashtag #FediSea will work too.
We are working an exciting new project for the Fediverse. It will be called FediSea.
More details soon👀
I've been playing around with #pixelix for a day and it's a game changer compared to the official #pixelfed app.
The UI looks good, scrolling through posts is very smooth, comment trees actually make sense, collections appear on people's profiles, there's a handy button for reading the alt-text, you can install it from f-droid without adding external repositories.
Try it!

As a thank-you for supporting Vernissage, you’re the first to get access to the native iOS app (via TestFlight). It already includes almost all key features - the only thing coming later is push notifications (needs more backend work). I’m aiming to make this app as user-friendly as possible, with a strong focus on great UX. After testing and stabilizing, I’ll release it on the App Store for everyone (still deciding the model).
