We got a little bag of mixed fruit German hard candies at the Cheese Importers, and I'm so glad they included my favorite flavor, Eye of Sauron.
A few photos from our hike on Saturday. Two of Dream Lake, one of Emerald Lake, and one of Longs Peak from along the trail.
One last time lapse, looking north from Many Parks Curve.
And seen from Many Parks Curve in Rocky Mountain National Park earlier that night. This isn't what the naked eye saw, of course, but it was still stunning!
I was amazed that the pink glow of the aurora was still visible in the southern sky over Longs Peak! (Last photo.)
A couple more hydrogen-α shots. Some with clouds visible. And some unzoomed with the eyepiece framing visible.
Shot these by using a bracket to point my phone camera down the eyepiece of my hydrogen-α solar telescope. Not perfect, but neither was the setup.
A number of features are visible, including a prominence near the top of the sun's disk in all the images.
It was mostly overcast most of the day, but we still got some decent views of totality.
It was the second one for @jakmacdrum and me, but it was the first for my husband and my parents.
