The global energy consumption in 2017 was 22.3 terawatt hours.
If we moved all financial transactions over to Bitcoin, we'd require over 1000 terawatt hours... each day(!) for Bitcoin transactions alone(!).
That doesn't even factor in that Bitcoin's energy consumption will be exponential to the amount of transactions.
@MarioZambeli wondering what has this country become .. I came here and I was soooo envious when random people said "Hi" on the street to me. Over the years I realized that it's probably better to move farther away from people because of the trends I was seeing. Sad ... and now I am losing friends over my opinions.

@ClimateAction @Secondmineboy the reason what I left Twitter was the amount of b/s from left and frankly I am happier when I don't see any political b/s in here. Honestly, if the can all stay on twitter and decide not to pollute #mastodon it would be the ideal state :-).
@Fenix this is a neverending fight for power. Sadly, people don't see it this way. Certain group of people is benefiting from this whole circus. I am so looking forward for this to be over ... thanks to this I moved to less known #socialnetwork #mastodon and even here I can see this rubbish all over the place.
