Just a note - my name IRL has changed, and my old name was in my handle on this account. I finally made a new account recently, and I'm going to do a move to the new one. If I'm understanding the instructions correctly, this is supposed to move everyone following me to the new account? which seems improbable enough that I keep thinking I'm misunderstanding the process. Either way, I wanted to make a post here as well to let folks know. My new handle is: @ianfw
I have had four hours of sleep and I have "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" stuck in my head. I am not okay with either of these things.

Support the WGA strike! This is one of the first strikes (that I know of) to focus on preventing companies from replacing writers with algorithms. Seems like something that newspaper guilds will grapple with soon too. https://www.wgacontract2023.org/strike-hub

I'll put my #Caturday drawing on pause now (or on paws, hehe!) before I mess it up with too much fiddling.

Without algorithms it takes boosting to make the Mastodon machine move - so boost often, boost freely and boost abundantly.

Nobody is trying to sell you anything.

Nobody puts their ugly mug at the top of your feed.

Nobody buries your post and (sorry) nobody promotes it.

Posts may settle more quickly here as they fall thru timelines without artificial support.

Mastodon’s rhythm therefore has a different feel which may feel unusual to birders.

Mostly, have fun. Be kind. Learn and share.
