This is our world now, the world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud.

We exist without nationality, skin color or religious bias.

You, wage wars, murder, cheat, lie to us and try to make us believe it’s for our own good. Yet, we’re the criminals.

Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. I am a hacker and this is my manifesto.

You may stop me, but you can’t stop us all.

@toxi I know a lot of people just use them as monitors.
@heiseonlineenglish Sorry, I’m not spending a grand for an algorithm.

@mykl I can’t help but think, if Apple isn’t innovative anymore, why the fuck are they copying Apple’s ideas?

Also, these are millennial/zoomer problems, when you’re from the generation before the internet, you appreciate that you have more power in your hands then you had on a whole floor of reel to reel Honeywells.

We don’t get caught up in the politics surrounding innovation for the sake of innovation.

@CryptoZupid Yeah. I bought a $50 one
@CryptoZupid I still don’t know how to use this app. 😅
@SuffolkLITLab Here we go again. WTF is it with these Europeans? 🤦🏻‍♂️

@paulthenerd That’s actually the opposite of what will happen.

Just like affirmative action, they will be hiring people that check boxes and not necessarily the best applicant for the job.

The reason other companies are walking this back, other than proving they never really cared in the first place, is so they can stay off the radar of the #electedfelon, who takes office next week.

@jifi @madeindex @FransVeldman Since iOS blocks Facebook from doing this, I will assume the same can be said for threads. This would affect Android though, certainly.

@jifi @madeindex I know what the principle is, I was on custom ROM teams for almost a decade.

And yes, I will trust a company that’s been doing this about as long as I have been alive, rather than hobbyists.

I’m not sure what information you think they are sharing, other than what is needed for functionality, but it is certainly a considerable amount less than Android, especially when iOS offers specific features to protect your identity, like private relay, which hides your location and/or internet activity while using safari.

There is also the “hide my email” feature, which allows you to generate random email addresses that forward to your real address. That’s just two, off the top of my head. You can physically see the lengths Apple goes to protect your identity, versus rumors that talk about information they share.

Yeah, I’ll listen to Apple, thanks.

@madeindex @jifi There aren’t any and there are drawbacks to installing a custom OS as well. At the very least, you get a lovely warning every time you boot up, yay.

Graphene is ok but it’s not the end all be all of Android security. If it were, other companies would be using it….
