The thing I hate about Twitter, is that it was, and is, used by journalists to form a consensus. Not only was it a sort of circle jerk of stories about posts on Twitter leading to posts on Twitter about stories about posts on Twitter, but that the various controversies and pile-ons and ten-minute-hates were, and are, the shaping of “public opinion”—that is, the opinions of journalists—in real time, observable outside the editorial conference room. Why is that needed?

@xian I heard a similar usage in a sermon last Sunday, but in that case “interrogate” was used where “challenge” was meant.
