I am once again asking you to stop using LastPass. The company has a history of security issues dating back years, and has yet to make holistic security improvements — or heck even investigate incidents properly.
Good alternatives:
- 1Password is my #1 rec, best for most use cases
- Bitwarden if you want open source
- KeePassXC if you want local vaults and open source
- I hear ok things about Dashlane but don’t know a ton

Found an incredibly useful app for finding people to follow on Mastodon. It crawls your social graph then finds the people who your followers follow the most that you don't follow.
If you use LastPass this is extremely important news. Attackers have access to all your website URLs and encrypted passwords.
This was effectively their only job and they failed.
This feels somewhat inevitable given how big a prize the LastPass vault is but scary to see happen.

The Fediverse is just one piece of the puzzle.
If you want to reach *everyone*, email exists. Everyone has email. Newsletters are the new hotness.
SMS exists. Everyone has that.
There's a myriad of chat apps: IRC, XMPP, the Matrix, etc.
Or how about building your own basic website?
No corporation controls any of these things. You can make this. With a little bit of drive and know-how, you can reach and mobilize people.
Big rumblings in the expansion of the #Fediverse have been happening recently.
#Tumblr has already promised to implement #ActivityPub (the protocol Mastodon uses), which will mean you can follow Tumblr accounts from here and vice versa. And today we a learning that #Flickr is also considering it!
This will be a massive expansion, which obviously carries some uncertainties, but I, for one, welcome our new federation partners.
This is the way the internet is supposed to work.
