Where can I find more people to talk with about the future architecture of the Fediverse and how it can grow to become a viable alternative to big tech social media? I am thinking along the lines of comprehensive ecosystem planning, product ideation, governance, business models, and fundraising…and how they all fit together.
Boris MannI’ve found the BlueSky team to be very purposeful. It’s not run or owned by Jack, it’s not Jack’s thing, although he is on the board (it’s a Public Benefit Corporation in the US).
Jay Graber is the CEO & founder who fought for it to be independent of Twitter & calling it Jack’s thing erases her. It’s not great.
It’s another open protocol that makes different trade offs than ActivityPub.

I have a small number of BlueSky https://blueskyweb.xyz/ invite codes to hand out. It is an implementation of the #AtProtocol https://atproto.com/ for building decentralized social networking. Users own their #DID based accounts and can use their own domain name as a username, just by adding a DNS TXT record. Right now there is a first party iOS and web client, and a bunch of devs have been hacking https://github.com/bluesky-social/atproto-ecosystem DM me here about what domain you’ll use as your name
@mastodonusercount Why does this post show 280,000 accounts added in the last week but the post a week ago only shows 6,000 fewer accounts than today?
@evan is there a distinction between getting watery eyes, feeling emotional, and outright crying? I get a bit weepy pretty often but very rarely have a hard cry.
