@nelson There's a new-ish Tura Satana documentary that just showed up on Hoopla and Kanopy. Watched it the other night, and it was pretty good, though Tura has never been a reliable narrator. https://letterboxd.com/film/tura/
TURA! (2024)

The one and only Tura Satana. Best remembered for her role as the fierce Varla in Russ Meyer’s 1965 cult classic Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, Tura’s real life was just as wild and unapologetic as her on-screen persona. And her post-film legacy was just as noteworthy, leaving a fist-shaped mark on pop culture and an indelible signature in burlesque stages, queer clubs, and comic conventions everywhere.

Put together a quick video of our recent trip to Zion National Park, Kanab Utah, Vermillion Cliffs and Route 66 from Flagstaff to Oatman. Highlights were seeing California condors, desert Bighorn sheep and huge amounts of amazing geology. https://youtu.be/iXFHEkUt9Wo

Absolutely terrible view from this hotel room balcony.
As some of you know, a Mississippi pesticide company sued me in 2019 over my negative review of its scam device, the Spartan Mosquito Eradicator. That litigation ended this year when the judge threw out the case on the merits. But given the legal system in the United States, the company wasn't forced to pay the substantial legal fees I'd racked up. So I filed a malicious prosecution claim. Well, this week I received a settlement check that fully covers my costs. Next on my to-do list: get the EPA and FTC to investigate the company for fraud. I will get this product off the shelves someday, somehow. #mosquitoes #law #slapp #legal #mississippi #hattiesburg #SpartanMosquito

After allegedly igniting the Alexander Mountain fire, authorities say a 49-year-old Loveland man donned fake gear and posed as a wildland firefighter to get past roadblocks and enter restricted areas as real firefighters fought the flames.

Jason Alexander Hobby, 49, was arrested Tuesday and faces first-degree arson charges, booking records show. He is being held in the Larimer County jail on a $250,000 bond.
