BTW the apps were not crashing because of no service pack. They work in a VM on a newer PC. The video also shows they still crashed on Windows 7 SP1

Another thing that the last SteamOS update did was delete Haruna media player that was previously included. Installing VLC from Discover (software centre) was no problem though

Updated to the newest version of SteamOS, which switches the Linux windowing system from X11 to Wayland. Now the virtual keyboard in desktop mode lock screen does not appear, making unlocking impossible without connecting an external keyboard.
This is a specialised distro made for this hardware, and it still has stupid little issues. I try my best to enjoy Linux, but things like this are why I still use Windows #steamdeck #steamos

What are the chances of getting a scam text like this when you’re actually waiting for a parcel delivery? Apart from the pathetic phishing URL and the typo, my item was shipped by another company, not GLS

TIL about the Microsoft secure boot certificates expiring soon. On my computer Windows Security says the needed updates are applied, so that's good.

Apologies if that video sounds muffled at certain points. Since switching to a newer device for filming (the “upgrade” I showed on April fools day), I hadn’t realised this “audio zoom” setting needs to be turned off.

It was given to me because the screen is super scratched and battery health is 76%, and they decided to buy a newer phone rather than fix this one. It’s not replacing my current phone

Just found out that my main computer's SSD health is at 22% (Can't check with Samsung Magician because it's an OEM drive). Not too bad for a well-used 12-year-old drive, but need to be prepared
