If you’re sad or upset about the tragic killing of a family near West Portal Station, sign the petition to close the nearby area to cut-through car traffic and install transit-first lanes: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/westportal

This tragedy was preventable — you can prevent a future tragedy ⬇️

Close the intersection of West Portal and Ulloa to car traffic and install Transit-Only Lanes

The intersection of West Portal Avenue and Ulloa Streets is dangerously designed and, with its numerous Muni stops and large number of people walking and biking through the area, it should be closed to car traffic to make the area safe for people, especially children, seniors, and people with disabilities who often use walk and public transportation as well as visit nearby the Public Library’s West Portal branch, West Portal Playground, and shops along West Portal Avenue. On March 16, 2024, two people — including a child — were killed and two people were injured when a driver crashed a car near this intersection. Closing this intersection to cars and installing Transit-Only Lanes will instantly make it safer for people, including people who need to drive or use cars, in addition to improving the speed and reliability of public transportation to and from West Portal. Please sign the petition now by filling out the form and tapping ‘start writing’. You can make a difference and help make this intersection and the surrounding area safe by signing the petition now.

Apple’s LLM gap is real. It might not last much longer. — Joan Westenberg

Apple has carved out a prestigious position in the consumer tech market through sleek designs, user-friendly interfaces, and a robust ecosystem. The data is clear - Apple is the market and perception leader in every category that matters. But developments in Large Language Models have presented the
