I know little about the Israel conflict, so I'm genuinely asking. What does Hamas think it can accomplish with these attacks? Surely, Israel has a *much* stronger army? They can just pretty much take Gaza if they wanted, no? My assuption was that there would have been international backlash, which doesn't seem likely after a terrorist attack against civilians.
