while i do think asking people to put CW on discussions of politics or racism is close to “i feel uncomfy having those discussions” putting CW on discussion posts including discriminatory violence/mass shootings/police brutality is just common internet practice in many blog spaces.

it’s extremely generalizing to say “everyone should see this” when there are people in the audience that LIVE it day to day. out of respect for those folk, i’ll be using CW on posts that relate to those topics.

The posts about the devastating and senseless shooting tragedy in Colorado is a reminder to USE CW (content warnings) on anything that is vaguely triggering.

One of the significant upsides of this place is the absence of the Rage and Grief Storm. So please give people the option to opt out of things that make them feel shitty.

Pilot Rule #4: You're going to need a format (act outs or no?/swearing or nudity?/hour or half?), which means you're going to need a target network.

So, go out and look at the landscape of television, find the show that is the closest to the thing you imagine, go get the script to that pilot...and use that structure.

The script for an HBO one hour pilot and the one for a ABC half-hour are as different as a giraffe and a naked mole rat.

Twitter is full of a *lot* of people who think they have some magical agency there. That just “blocking” Trump or Musk is the same as “downvoting” him and burying his reach and I’m just surprised that a lot of these people are smart and know better. The system is built to boost him regardless. That’s the entire problem with a privately owned app like that run by a bad actor: you have no agency. It’s hard to see a lot of friends there are too addicted to the platform to realize that.
