@Genxer its a commentary, and only should be recognised as such. i don't consider it a "bible" or a "translation".

@stillbreathing agree in that using it as "Peterson's commentary" is ok. (I do wish Nicky wouldn't reference Joyce meyer so much in BIOY though.)

I keep seeing various daily bible devotions using The Message in the place of actual scripture for the bible reading. I'm not a KJV-only type, but Eugene Peterson's paraphrase,/commentary is not a substitute for a genuine translation, and I'm sure he didn't intend it to be used this way either.

@steele i'm left-handed so fountain pens are out. I like to find the pens with a nice smooth feel but also a nice weighting but also they need to be inexpensive. these ones are my favourites to use and the penatia lexington are cheap but i really like them.

@royal i think it really depends on the particular area of doctrine. there should be a few showstoppers that cause you to say "i need a different church that agrees doctrinally in the area of X,Y,Z" @multilingualchurch

@pteranodo There's certainly a lot that goes on in this chapter of chronicles, it's pretty wild.i looked up the original bennett quote for a bit more context. It seems his argument is against those who say things like "but we raise lots of tax from smoking, we couldn't possibly ban it".

@kjw810 and yet it's probably the position/rota that's one of the hardest to fill. there seems to be lack of people willing to learn, and generally not a glamorous role. i personally enjoy it and, like you, see it as a crucial role to be done well.

Why is it that nobody wants to be sound engineer but so many desire to be worship leader? And then even half of the sound engineers are actually frustrated musicians.
