So I got everything back up and running. I even added a few new features. I think next I will start implementing a full database backup rather than just a website backup. A lot of work, but I'm calling it 90% done.
So I tried transferring over the install to a new hard drive - copy the files, change the fstab, and reinstall the bootloader. No such luck. All my installs broke in a spectacular fashion. I decided it's easier to start from scratch.

So I don't know if the router and server were actually in cahoots, because now the hard drive on the server crashed. I'll try to repair, but I have a replacement if needed. Just not looking forward to redoing all the work.

I knew our fight wasn't over. The router agreed to give me a public ip for my server, but then refused to let my computers access the internet. Oddly, the phones still worked. Nevertheless, I reset the router to factory settings, and reconfigured from scratch. Seems to work from what I can tell for now.

So this morning, the router and I had a disagreement. It didn't want to give a public ip to my server. We ended up getting into a full blown argument over it. I won, but I don't feel good about it.

Business class on an airplane sounds like a great idea, until you realize it is not really any better than economy. Beds aren't comfortable, flight attendants rude, bad overall experience.
