@acb Adorable!
@acb That’s a great photo of Doris!
Since #BobDylan kicked off his spring tour last night I will celebrate this #Caturday with a throwback photo of someone who has disrespected technology for nine years now.

This morning an article was published showing the links between child labor in mines to primarily Tesla but also similar; investigative journalism by Aftonbladet, one of 2 major evening newspapers in Sweden, about as mainstream as it gets.

As an apparent response, "free speech absolutist" Elon Musk, owner of both Tesla and of rebranded Twitter... flagged links to the article as "may be unsafe".

I won't translate whole article (https://special.aftonbladet.se/story/jleydo and https://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/a/jlWAOA/sa-kopplas-tesla-till-barngruvorna-vi-foljer-sparet in Swedish) but the main gist is 11000 children mine mica (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mica) on Madagascar, very large island at SE of Africa, then it is bought by Glory Mica, shipped to China and from there on to the rest of the world where the most of the found transaction traces ended up with "Tesla Inc." as final recipient, but also some others like BMW of Germany and Volvo Cars (majority owned by Chinese "Geely Holding Group").

Volvo Cars responded to request for comments e-mail with a very long message claiming to be member of a "Responsible Mica Initiative" and they get mica from that company but not Madagascar but don't have tracing but working on it and blah, blah.
BMW gave a shorter version of same claim and not really an answer.
Tesla took many days to reply with only links to its website for claimed policies.

Spotify laying off one in every seven. I guess they really won big time when they convinced their staff to not unionize 😳
Spotify made £56m profit, but has decided not to pay smaller artists like me. We need you to make some noise

What its Wrapped campaign doesn’t say is that indie musicians and labels are treated terribly, and deserve a better deal, says Damon Krukowski

it would be sadly appropriate if Songtradr is freaking out over the self-inflicted wound of skyrocketing bandwidth costs as everyone (myself included) is presently downloading their entire Bandcamp libraries in lossless formats
Today, Epic Games’ sale of Bandcamp to Songtradr closed and at least half of Bandcamp’s staff was laid off. This is heartbreaking. We love our jobs, the platform we’ve built, and the Bandcamp community. We’re glad we have our union — coworkers who have each other’s backs. We’ll be moving together to decide our next steps. On Wednesday we return to the bargaining table with Epic Games, and we’ll keep you updated. Love and solidarity to the whole Bandcamp community. Thank you for your support.
