Not a healthy situation! Don't get me wrong: the fine devs and folks running mastodon.social have done nothing wrong and I had some good times here, much better than in other places.

But as a former biologist, I believe in diversity is healthy for an ecosystem, and the same applies to communities. And the beauty of the fediverse is that I can move around and still follow you! 😊

Mastodon Uno Social - Italia

While I appreciate the Mastodon team's work on mastodon.social, I have concerns about its dominance in the Mastoverse. This centralization isn't ideal for the Fediverse. Others have articulated these issues better, and I might do so in the future. For now, I'm putting this account on hiatus and may eventually migrate to another instance.
