Not a healthy situation! Don't get me wrong: the fine devs and folks running mastodon.social have done nothing wrong and I had some good times here, much better than in other places.
But as a former biologist, I believe in diversity is healthy for an ecosystem, and the same applies to communities. And the beauty of the fediverse is that I can move around and still follow you! 😊

Il fediverso non smette mai di divertire nel vedere quanta enfasi ci sia nel tifare un Fediverso super frammentato in micro-istanze e poi scoprire che tutto questo viene detto da una comoda istanza Mastodon che, guarda un po’, monopolizza il 70% del fediverso, accoglie il 99% dei nuovi iscritti su una sola istanza (mastodon.social da 3 mln di iscritti) e schiaccia qualsiasi alternativa.
